We are the owners of Camp Canine USA LLC --- dedicated to the training, care, and wellness of family companion dogs and, yes, cats, too. Founded in 2001, Camp Canine USA LLC was developed through the love and commitment we feel for our own canine companions. We set out to develop programs to help others build solid, lifetime relationships with their dogs. Camp Canine USA provides Positive, reward-based Training Programs, Behavior Counseling and In-Home Pet Care. Our programs are designed to provide fun, exciting, happy, stress-free, positive experiences and results for both dogs and their life caregivers. Our services are focused on those who live in the Forsyth county area of Georgia . Narrowing our service area -- our GEOGRAPHICAL PAWPRINT, as we like to call it --allows us the opportunity to spend more quality time with and provide a more positive experience for all our four-legged clients. Jenny
I am a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT) and professional member
of the APDT,
the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. I am an Atlanta, Georgia native. When
I was a little girl, I wanted to be a veterinarian. I also wanted to be a
singer, dancer and an actress. So wouldnt you know, I wound up working in
radio and television not as a singer, dancer or actress, but rather as a
reporter and news anchor. I have logged more than 25 years in major market
and network radio and television. I am still a freelance news writer to this
day. Through it all, I never lost my love of animals or my passion for learning
what makes them tick.
That passion led me to spend 18 months studying under Pat Miller, one of the most highly regarded dog trainers and authors in the country. Her training center, Peaceable Paws LLC, is based in Hagerstown , Maryland . Pat began as, and still is, my mentor, but she is also a treasured friend. I came away from my time with Pat with a deep desire to pass the positive training philosophy on to whoever would listen. It is a philosophy that recognizes dogs as thinking, feeling creatures with a rich capacity and willingness to learn. All a person needs are patience, a sense of fun and a pocketful of rewards to open the door to that special relationship between dog and human. I have been focusing on family dog training for the past five years. Much of that time has been spent working with local Atlanta-area rescue groups as a volunteer trainer. Bill and I also have opened our home and our pack to numerous foster dogs in transition to their forever homes. I teach group classes in Basic Obedience (I prefer to call it Basic Manners), but most of my work has been one-on-one in private, in-home training, not only for basic manners but also largely for behavior consults and behavior modification programs when necessary. My husband Bill and I understand the importance of training, exercise and socialization to the success and harmony of the dog-human relationship. Through training, as well as emotional and physical wellness, a solid bond is forged. As a result, everyone in the family has a deeper understanding of their dogs role in their lives and their role in their dogs life. Bill
I grew up in Wisconsin and have lived in metro Atlanta since 1991. I, too,
have logged many years in television production and network television management
in Atlanta --- 15 years, in all. As part of various network production crews,
I have traveled the world from political campaign hotspots such as Iowa and
New Hampshire to war zones in Chechnya and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Jenny and I met because the paths of our respective media careers merged. But that was then and this is now. It was -- and is -- our passion for dogs, cats and the animal world, in general, that set us on our current path. We are members in good standing with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Pet Sitters International, and the American Boarding Kennel Association, all of which provide us with continuing education and a solid professional network. We are American Red Cross-certified in Pet First Aid. We are experienced, bonded and insured. We continue our work with local animal rescue groups to provide training, support and information in order to help build strong relationships for adopting families. We both continue to attend conventions, seminars and workshops on a number of Canine Health, Wellness and Training topics. Camp Canine has been our longtime dream. We hope you will get to know
us, so that we can share a bit of that dream with you. |
