Here are some of the most frequently asked questions of the Camp Canine USA Staff and our Council Members:

Why should we choose Camp Canine USA as our In-Home Pet Care provider?

Simply put -- because we care so much. We are committed to providing safe, professional, healthy in-home care for your pets. Providing for the mental and physical well-being of each pet and the peace of mind of his or her family is our highest priority. Our In-Home Pet Care services support a healthy and stress-free life. If your pets could speak Human, they no doubt would tell you they would rather stay at home instead of in a kennel somewhere else. We strongly believe that allowing them to remain in their comfortable, familiar environment is far less stressful than the alternative. Camp Canine has been our longtime dream. We hope you will get to know us, so that we can share a bit of that dream with you and your best friends. We're happy to discuss it in more detail. Our contact numbers and email addresses are on our Contact Us page.

How does In-Home Pet Care benefit my pets?

In a number of ways. As the saying goes, "Home is where the heart is, " especially for your dog or cat. It is where your best friend feels safe and secure. It is the place where you build a relationship with your pet each day. Your pets are happier campers when Camp Canine USA cares for them while you are out of town on business, vacation or a holiday. In-Home Pet Care reduces stress -- yours and theirs -- which often occurs during a traditional kennel stay. You eliminate the possibility of your pet contracting illnesses that may be present in a traditional kennel environment. Equally important is the fact that we provide an additional level of pet care, safety and security while you are away by standardizing our services with 4 visits per day. Our presence sends the message your home is occupied and a busy, active environment. Let's talk more about the benefits of our In-Home Pet Care Services. Click on Contact Us.

What about my cats? Can you watch over them as well while I am out of town?

Absolutely -- as long your cats live indoors, just like our kitties, Spunky and Pumpkin. We are more than happy to provide them with daily visits, playtime, medications and supplements, clean litter boxes and provide you with all the other benefits of our services at Camp Canine USA --- only we do it with Feline Flair!

What is the benefit of Camp Canine USA 's In-Home Training programs?

Whether you choose our private In-home Family Dog Training or our Home-and-Train program, your dog(s) will be more comfortable and relaxed, and consequently more focused on the goals of the training session. Your dog will learn in her own environment and neighborhood where she is likely to learn more quickly. You will have the opportunity to work closely with your canine companion in the comfort of your home. We use only training methods based on positive reinforcement to teach your dog the basic manners and skills that will enhance your lives. We also will work with you to ensure you have the skills to reinforce what your dog has learned when we are not there. When you combine our In-Home Pet Care and Training programs (aka our Home-and-Train Program), we incorporate practice sessions with you to support the training time we have spent with your dog(s). The benefits to you and your canine companions are endless. To learn more, please Contact Us.

Our pets are confined by an electronic invisible fence system. Is that a problem when they are in your care?

Your pet's safety and security is one of Camp Canine 's top priorities. We do not leave your pets unattended during the outdoor exercise and/or training portions of our programs. During our visits, we will remove all shock collars used in an invisible fence system. We use some of the best collars and leashes (Premier brand) on the market. We walk your pets on-leash at all times. We require that your pets wear ID tags and rabies tags. We do not require it, but we do support microchip identification. If your yard is secured by a solid fence, we play with your pets there, allowing them to really enjoy the Camp Canine USA experience to its fullest.

No fence of any design can be declared 100% secure, but we absolutely believe invisible fence systems are the least secure of all. We have known or learned of far too many dogs supposedly contained by these systems who have escaped from their homes and been lost, injured or even worse. An invisible fence may keep a dog within its boundaries, but it cannot keep out other animals or people with bad intentions. Furthermore, we consider the use of shock collars in direct contradiction to our mission to provide safe, happy and positive experiences for your best friends. We understand you have a choice in deciding whether or not to use these systems. We hope you understand our belief that collars and leashes, solidly-fenced yards and indoor care are better tools for providing the best possible experience, as well as safety and security, for your pets.

What area does Camp Canine USA serve for Pet Care?

Our current Geographical PawPrint (aka Service Area) is South Forsyth County , Georgia . We live in Forsyth County . We're a bone's throw away from your pets when you are gone. We are not running around the metro area -- in unpredictable metro Atlanta traffic -- trying to keep scheduled appointments. We know the area, and we want to get to know your pets. We minimize our service area, so that we can provide the highest level of care and attention possible to your pets while you are away. We would expect this level of service for our pets. It is our goal to treat your beloved pets as if they were our own. Contact us to discuss our Geographical PawPrint, In-Home Pet Care Services and Family Dog Training Programs.

What area does Camp Canine USA serve for Family Dog Training?

Group Classes are currently held at Steeplechase Veterinary Hospital & Animal Behavior Center , 5610 Bethelview Road Suite 900 , Cumming , Georgia 30040.
Our Geographical PawPrint for Private In-Home Family Dog Training is broader. Our Certified Pet Dog Trainer visits homes in Central/South Forsyth County, North Fulton County and Northwest Gwinnett County , as well as bordering areas. Depending on distance, there may be a minimal travel fee for us to visit the outlying areas. To learn more, go to our Contact Us page. Drop us an e-mail or give us a call.

Why positive training?

We use only positive training methods. We follow the philosophy that your dog is more willing and, in fact, happier to work with you and learn what you want if the learning is fun and rewarding. Dogs are thinking, feeling creatures with a great capacity to learn. We capitalize on that ability by helping them understand what it is we want and teaching them that something good is waiting for them when they get it. That's positive reinforcement. We do not use choke collars, prong collars or physical punishment of any kind to achieve cooperation. Our main training tools are a box clicker for communication and favorite treats for rewards. You'll be amazed how quickly and willingly your dog will learn to Sit, Down, Come, Stay, Wait at the Door and many other basic good manners. We'll even show you how to teach her a trick or two to dazzle your friends. In the end, it's all fun and games. Who wouldn't do the good stuff if they get good stuff in return? To learn more, go to our Contact Us page. Drop us an e-mail or give us a call.

Is Camp Canine USA licensed, bonded and insured?

Yes, we are. We will be glad to share our policy documentation with you during our complimentary meet-and-greet session. This session is the opportunity for all of us to get to know each other and our chance to meet and learn about your pets and any special needs they might have. We want to make sure your four-legged friends get to know us as well. We will set up this meeting before we begin providing care for your pets. Let's get together soon! Click on Contact Us to get started.

When do we provide you with information on our pets and their personal care plan? How do I make reservations?

Let's start the process now. You will find our contact numbers and e-mail addresses on our Contact Us page.
Tell us about your pets! We will e-mail you our Camp Canine USA Canine or Feline Client Information documents (or both) and our Client Security forms. Fill them out at your leisure, print them out and we will pick them up at our meet-and-greet session. Or, you can e-mail them right back to us. Do you charge more for your In-Home Pet Care program during the holidays?

Absolutely not! Rates for our In-home Pet Care and Home-and-Train Programs are the same all year round. Our only Holiday requirement is a 50% deposit no later than 3 weeks prior to major holidays. See details on this at the Services page.

If the staff of Camp Canine USA encounters a personal emergency, who will care for my pets?

We are members of respected local, state and national professional organizations and we network accordingly to have options in the event of an emergency. We will make sure a trained, qualified and experienced caregiver steps in temporarily for us, if needed. This is another reason we have a small Geographical PawPrint. We minimize the chance this will ever happen. In the unlikely event of a personal emergency for Camp Canine , you will be notified of anyone else involved temporarily in the care of your pets. For more details, you can reach us through the Contact Us page.

Does the staff at Camp Canine USA ever take a vacation?

We do take vacation twice a year. We do this to attend professional conferences and training programs, obtain continuing education and also take in some much needed R & R for ourselves and the Camp Council. Don't worry - if you are regular happy camper clients, you will know at least 3 months in advance. We will even help you find alternative care programs in our absence. As our clients, we will keep you updated on our travel plans in 2008!!

How did your Camp Council come to be?

We asked the Council Members, and they responded with "Big Woofs", "Friendship Paws" and a "Roo-roo" from Clyo.........all that translates to....
" The members of the Camp Council are members of the Schneider Family. Some of us spent time as foster 'kids' while waiting to find our forever homes".
We are blessed to have them in our lives. They remind us of our good fortune every day.
Each of them brings a unique and wonderful personality to our home. As a multi-dog, multi-cat family we have learned a great deal about care and commitment. We thank the Council for their joy, courage, friendship and inspiration in building Camp Canine USA .
You can see and learn more about our Camp Council . It's easy. Click on Camp Council.

Where did the name Camp Canine USA come from?

Our belief has always been that pets should be members of a family. When you are on vacation, out of town on business, or working late (aka a typical Atlanta workday) -- your pets should still receive the attention they need for a healthy, happy and a well-adjusted life. Our programs are designed to help you help your pets to thrive. We bring day camp to your home. A happy camper environment makes each day more exciting for your pet and gives you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your pet is being watched over by people who truly care. This is not a hobby or a part time job. It is our mission. Camp Canine days are fun and exciting. We promote positive experiences and results. A happy pet makes life easier and more fun for everyone.

The " USA " in Camp Canine USA is our homage to the men and women who give selfless service, domestically and abroad, to protect this great country which provides us all the freedom to reach for our own greatness and happiness in life. To these men and women we say Thank You with "Big Woofs and Friendship Paws !!!"
Camp Canine USA --- born in the USA -- for dogs and other pets in Forsyth County , Georgia , USA .

Why call it Camp Canine if there's no "camp" to attend?

Who says "camp" can't be where you live? For us, it's as much a state of mind as a place. When we think camp, we think fun. We think exercise and play. We think happy relationships. Your pet's favorite place is home. With CCUSA programs, your pets continues to live, grow and thrive in life.

Whether you choose our Group Classes, Private In-Home Training or In-Home Pet Care, your pets will be more comfortable and relaxed, focused, happier and probably healthier with Camp Canine USA . Working together, we can help you and your pet get the most out of your lives together.
